About the Government Council for Science, Technology and Innovation
The Slovak Government Council for Science, Technology and Innovation is the main coordinating and advisory body of the Government of the Slovak Republic in the field of research and innovation policies.
The Council’s main tasks include:
- ensure coherent policy-making and inter-ministerial coordination,
- coordinate the tasks arising from the National Strategy and supervise its implementation
- monitor and analyse policies in Slovakia and abroad
- make recommendations to the government on relevant reforms and measures, including governance and financing policies.
The competences of the Council are defined in the Statute, approved by Government Resolution No. 460/2022 of 13 July 2022 (in slovak).

The Council has a total of 15 members composed of:
the Prime Minister, four ministers and ten independent experts on research and innovation.
