About the Research and Innovation Authority (VAIA)
VAIA’s mission is to significantly enhance Slovakia’s innovation performance. VAIA was established at the Cabinet Office in 2021 to reform government support for science, research and the innovation ecosystem. Its main tasks for research, development and innovation are the introduction of evaluation by foreign experts, the design of a new governance and funding model under the Government Council for Science, Technology and Innovation and the preparation of the National Strategy for Research, Development and Innovation.
